Kitchen Confidential: A "10 cup" pot of coffee really only yields 6.

Kitchen Confidential: A "10 cup" pot of coffee really only yields 6.

We’re thrilled to bring you this new feature from Pondering Lake News, called Kitchen Confidential, in which our own lakeside “foodies” bring you fresh tips, insights and hacks to make life in the kitchen just a bit easier, and a lot more tasty. We thought we’d start with the basics, which brought us straight to morning coffee. After extensive testing featuring a variety of beans, cups and mornings, we can report with 100% certainty that a “10-cup pot” of coffee will become a “zero-cup pot” after filling just 6 cups (unless you live in England where they still use those dainty little cups that you have to fill three times before you can even feel a buzz). Our recommendation: Avoid an expensive trip to London by making 12 cups, which is really only 8, and plan on using plenty of cream if you want to stretch it to 10.
