After taxidermy procedure, Barney "just not as much fun anymore," laments owner.
After 16 years of loyal companionship, Walt Hemple wasn't prepared to part with four-legged best friend Barney. Fortunately, he didn't have to. "It was amazing. One day he was cold as a fish, then after a week at North Main Taxidermy, he was back, good as new." But Walt soon realized the relationship wasn't going to be quite the same. "He's still a great companion, as loyal as ever, and not having to feed him is definitely an unexpected cost saving. But the first time I called to him for our Saturday morning fishing trip, he just sat there, and that's when it hit me. So it's been a little disappointing in that regard." All in all, though, Walt is happy to have Barney around. "We all get older. Heck, I don't move around like I used to, either."
