Truth be told: Mindy Stern reveals she "always hated" Grandma's famous Pearl Onion Pie.

For as long as anyone in the Stern family can remember, Grandma Betsy's Famous Pearl Onion Pie was revered as a holiday dinner classic. But this past weekend, fueled by several generous glasses of Chardonnay, daughter Mindy raised more than a few eyebrows when she blurted out, "I always hated that gross thing." As the deafening silence set in, she continued, "By what insane logic does a person think it's okay to put pearl onions in a pie?" Truth be told, more than a few heads were nodding, though at least one loyal sibling vowed to keep the tradition alive. Asked if he actually enjoyed the pie, Joey Stern pleaded the fifth, saying only, "Just a small slice, please. I'm watching my calories."
